Sidwell Friends School-a PK-12, co-educational Quaker day school with campuses in Washington, DC and Bethesda, MD-seeks part-time Service Team members at Sidwell Friends cafe and school store located near Tenleytown Metro in NW Washington, DC. Approximately 15-20 hours per week starting in January, mixed shifts Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:30 pm. Please indicate your scheduling availability in your cover letter.
The successful candidate must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to multitask to address various areas of support in the café, including: tallying customer purchases/operate cash register, preparing smoothies and espresso drinks, assisting in stocking products and food/beverage supplies, assisting in maintaining overall store cleanliness and presentation of product, assisting in maintaining the clothing and gift area. Applicant must be able to lift 35 pounds.
No retail or barista experience is required but is preferred. Computer savvy a plus. Food safety management certification a big plus.
Compensation: $13.25 per hour; free parking
