Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Associate is an integral member of the Advancement fundraising team. The Development Associate will provide administrative and routine support for fundraising programs and activities. S/he will work with all front-line fundraising staff, the Database Manager, and other Severn School faculty to establish and cultivate Severn donors, volunteers, and prospects. Also, s/he will contribute to maintaining thorough and accurate data and records in the constituency database.
Responsibilities will include:
• Prepare reports and maintain constituency records including all pertinent research data. • Review and track funds and report on the use of gifts and conduct front-line research as assigned, as well as any assigned data input from activities. • Generate routine communications, coordinate production (formatting, copying, etc.) and dissemination of documents, such as presentations, grant proposals, conference and seminar materials, reports, brochures, and displays. • Provide project and administrative support to the Director of Development and gift officers, this includes inputting donor data, producing meeting agendas, calendars, and coordinating travel. • Maintain Advancement Office Calendar as well as the calendar for the Director of Development. • Coordinate and review schedules for upcoming travel/projects/events to determine the actions needed for successful and timely completion. • Retrieve information about prospects and donors, update records, and generate reports using the RE database. • Assist with budget tracking and process reimbursements. • Manage RSVP’s, support and staff all events and activities for the Office of Advancement.
• Bachelor degree required • 3+ years of relevant experience. • Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office • Knowledge of database systems • Ability to work efficiently, juggle multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines • Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort interacting with a wide range of people – including alumni, parents, and students • Outstanding communication skills • An eye for detail • Ability to exercise discretion in working with confidential information • Ability to work 3 days per week, 10-month position • Commitment to preschool-12 education • Experience with independent schools a plus!
