St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School seeks a dynamic, highly organized and forward thinking leader for its Director of Alumni Engagement role. The Director is responsible for providing and carrying through a strategic vision of SSSAS alumni relations which meaningfully engages a broad multi-generational alumni community of 7,000-plus while cultivating key alumni about opportunities for volunteering and financial support. The Director achieves deeper engagement from members of our alumni community by using metrics to drive alumni program goals and priorities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to bring alumni closer to the school, both in face-to-face meetings as well as communicating via social media, mass emails and through printed publications. The Director initiates, plans, and executes all alumni activities on behalf of the school and works with our motivated Alumni Association leadership and other key volunteers in developing and delivering a strong, ongoing, and comprehensive program for alumni relations.
A member of the school's administrative team, the Director of Alumni Engagement reports directly to the Director of Development and works closely with the Director of Annual Giving and Director of Alumni and Reunion Giving to streamline and unify fundraising, volunteering and engagement efforts. This includes managing a portfolio of donors, prospects, and reunion classes, and using existing events, communications and alumni initiatives to creatively promote the primacy of a strong culture of philanthropy.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and at least 3-5 years of experience in a development or alumni office setting. The candidate will also have a proven record of success in volunteer and event management, cultivating philanthropic relationships, direct fundraising and effective communications.

ability to motivate and inspire others; independent working style and outstanding work ethic; keen attention to detail;
ability to collect and analyze data that informs engagement and fundraising strategies;
ability to think flexibly and strategically to manage multiple channels of communication (mailings, phone calls, social media, etc.) and to successfully attain goals in a fast-paced environment;
collegial attitude with a sense of humor; willingness and ability to travel and work nights and weekends when needed;
experience in an educational setting and the ability to work in a collaborative team setting where multiple viewpoints are expressed, while possessing the initiative to self-start projects using a blend of best practice and educated risk-taking is desirable.
