Laguna Blanca School, an EK-12 independent school located in Santa Barbara, California, is currently accepting applications for an immediate and exciting full-time position at the Montecito campus. This unique position splits time between two roles: 1) Spanish Instruction for EK-4 students and 2) Instructional Assistant in Grade 4. Job descriptions for both roles are outlined below:
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SPANISH TEACHER
Main responsibilities include: Lesson planning and preparation for Spanish program using school’s curriculum, grading class work, maintaining a pleasant, organized educational environment; supervising lunch and recess; and chaperoning field trips.
Qualified applicants will possess the following skills and attributes:
Experience teaching Spanish to elementary students
Demonstrated ability to build and develop lessons
An interest in collaboration and curriculum development within the elementary years
Ability to address a range of student learning styles
Positive and inspiring attitude
Strong communication skills, including verbal and written

Ability to successfully develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, students, and families
GRADE 4 INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT
JOB DESCRIPTION Main responsibilities include: supporting lead teacher and specialist instructors with daily classroom instruction; maintaining and supporting a pleasant, organized educational environment; assisting with the preparation of teaching materials; supervising lunch and recess; and chaperoning field trips.
QUALIFICATIONS The most qualified applicants will have previous elementary classroom experience and must possess a strong desire to take an active role in the classroom. Candidates should be technologically proficient and possess excellent communication skills. Bachelor's Degree and/or a California teaching credential is preferred.
