Reporting directly to the Head of School, the Associate Head is a member of the senior administrative team, and is responsible for the day-to-day administration of faculty, and student academic affairs and programs. S/He will work collaboratively with all constituents of the McDonogh community to create a safe, joyful, and respectful school culture, which supports on-going and meaningful learning.
The Associate Head will have primary managerial responsibility for the School in the absence of the Head, and will represent the Head of School as needed at McDonogh School meetings and functions, as well as other engagements outside the immediate McDonogh community. In consultation with the Head of School, Division Heads, and other key Administrators, the Associate Head of School will set the direction for school philosophy, long-term planning, curricular design, and strategic initiatives to advance the School’s mission and achieve operational and educational goals.
In addition to the education requirement, candidates should have the following:
A minimum five years of relevant, progressive administrative leadership experience; classroom teaching experience is preferred
Experience with independent schools is preferred
Leadership experience in designing and implementing curriculum and managing change
Must have successful experience coaching and managing adults and providing effective feedback
