Nido seeks a highly qualified teaching and learning leader to serve in the position of Elementary School Principal. The school is looking for an academic leader with expertise in facilitation, systems, structures, and protocols. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and progressive educator who engages with the work through a student-centered lens. In addition to managing the operations of the Elementary School, s/he will embrace the School’s mission, vision, and values, and provide leadership, knowledge, and inspiration for our students, faculty, and parent community.

Responsibilities for the next Elementary School Principal include:
Taking the time to get to know the community in order to make a smooth transition
Guiding the faculty in order to refine teaching methods and programmatic structures that strengthen the educational program and provide an equitable student experience
Being a driven, detailed oriented, and highly organized leader capable of managing a tight budget, leading efforts around curricular alignment, and promoting a positive school culture
Being a visible and vocal steward of Nido’s traditions and unique identity as an educational institution
Being a willing and active participant in cross-divisional coordination and collaboration, and being a team player and effective partner for the senior administrative team
Educational leadership experience as a building level director, principal, or assistant principal in a school of similar size and structure
Background as an elementary school teacher
Breadth of experiences in a range of schools that have led to the development of multiple lenses and perspectives
Experience with EAL and learning support programs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Creative problem solver
Balanced, flexible personality
Master’s Degree in Elementary School Education, Educational Leadership or Curriculum/Instruction
Ability to speak and write in Spanish preferred
