Holy Cross Episcopal School of Montgomery, AL recognizing the God-given gifts and abilities of all persons, seeks to develop these gifts by creating a Christian community in the Episcopal tradition and by providing a nurturing environment in which students of all socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds grow spiritually, intellectually, and physically.
Envisions, leads, and oversees academic & co-curricular programs that facilitate the school's strategic initiatives, mission and vision.
Sets strategic, cultural, and philosophical direction of the school with the Board of Trustees and communicates the goals and vision to the school community.
Facilitates relationship between school and Board of Trustees; serves as a member of Board committees.
Makes all personnel related decisions regarding faculty and staff of the school, including, but not limited to: organizational structure, job responsibilities, hiring, evaluation, and termination.
Monitors staff morale, keeps faculty and staff informed of school business.
Fosters a school culture, diversity, and environment of encouragement and support among employees.
Oversees student recruitment and admissions processes and acceptance into program.
Responsible for enrollment trends and recommendations.
Oversees the SACS/SAIS accreditation process and maintenance of accreditation.
Oversees school facilities management and any capital planning in conjunction with the Board of Trustees. Oversees overall campus, including events, instructional uses or emergency related needs.
Establishes the direction for marketing and branding of the school, in conjunction with the Board of Trustees. Oversees all school communications.
Establishes school fundraising efforts, in conjunction with the Board of Trustees and Parents' Association.
Holds accountability for all financial matters of the school, including budget and salaries.
Represents the school to neighborhood, larger community, and the independent school world.
Participates in and attends professional meetings including AAIS, SAIS, and NAES.
Oversees faculty affairs and faculty meetings.
Makes all final emergency-related decisions regarding the campus facilities and student/faculty safety.
Models school virtues and beliefs personally and professionally.
Master's Degree or the equivalent is required.
Successful administrative experience is preferred.
Experience in developing and implementing a strategic plan is preferred.
Understanding of early childhood education and independent, faith-based schools is preferred.
Experience in both elementary and middle school environments is preferred.
Teaching experience is preferred.
A member of the Episcopal Church is preferred.

Currently we have 65 students in grades Pre K-6. Holy Cross is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2018-2019. Our current head of school is desiring to retire in 2019.
