Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy is a Catholic, Dominican college-preparatory day and boarding school whose mission is to educate young women for a life of faith, integrity and truth. We are currently seeking a dynamic Director of Alumnae Relations to join our Advancement Team. This position reports to the Director of Advancement and is responsible for establishing and directing programs that strengthen the school’s relationship with alumnae and parents of alumnae. The Director of Alumnae Relations oversees the strategic planning and implementation of all alumnae and parents of alumnae programs, events, and communications. The Director of Alumnae Relations collaborates with the Director of the Annual Fund to cultivate and solicit alumnae support for the school. This position supports current alumnae regional chapters by attending weekend and evening events and is actively involved in helping set up new regional chapters.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and manage a strategic plan for Alumnae Relations, which includes the creation of a year round calendar of programming based on age, interest, and geographic location and provides suitable volunteer opportunities.
Develop new programs and events on and off-campus to engage alumnae and parents of alumnae in the life and mission of the School and assist in the oversight of the operating budget for Alumnae Relations programming.
Identify and cultivate potential alumnae major donors.
Oversee management of the Alumnae Association Board, including identifying and recruiting new members, defining responsibilities, creating job descriptions, training volunteers and enhancing the visibility of the Alumnae Association.
Formalize the Alumnae Network by engaging alumnae as guest speakers, lecturers, etc., planning networking events for alumnae and building an alumnae database of professional and volunteer interests.
Plan and manage core alumnae events (for example reunions, family days, regional, networking) as well as parent of alumnae events.
Oversee all alumnae communications, including working collaboratively with the marketing and communications team.
Three to five years related development experience, preferably in education or a non-profit environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage volunteers and to improve the effectiveness of a program.
Experience in enlisting, training and staffing volunteer leaders in the fulfillment of their responsibilities.
Strong presentation skills. Able to represent the Academy professionally.
Flexibility to travel and attend periodic evening and/or weekend planned events.
Demonstrable planning, administrative, organizational, and budget skills.
Proven writing, research, and analytical skills.
Familiarity with computerized data management programs and their application in a development department setting. Experience with Raiser’s Edge a plus.
Ability to organize and prioritize workload in a timely manner and handle multiple deadlines.
Ability to establish measurable goals and objectives and to develop and implement strategies to achieve them.
Capable of working with others in the fulfillment of responsibilities.
Ideal candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills; demonstrated experience in event management; knowledge of social media sites i.e. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram and be detail oriented.
