Crystal Springs Uplands School (CSUS), a preeminent 6-12, co-educational, independent day school located in the San Francisco Bay Area, seeks a Head of Upper School for the 2019-2020 school year.
The new Head of Upper School (HoUS) will provide leadership, supervision and organization for all aspects of an Upper School of 350 students and report directly to the Head of School. The HoUS leads a team of 50 faculty members, 7 Department Heads and 6 administrators/staff (including Athletics, College Counseling, Dean of Students and Upper School Assistant) and is part of the school's 8-person leadership team.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree (preference of master's degree or higher) and demonstrated success as a classroom teacher and/or administrator. The candidate must be an outstanding communicator and deep listener who appreciates diverse perspectives, values intellectual exchange and respectful disagreement, is comfortable leading students and faculty with extraordinary academic aptitude and high expectations, and is eager to thrive in -- and is committed to creating -- a diverse, equitable community.
