The Bugil Academy Global Leader Program is a coed college preparatory boarding school in Cheonan, Korea, founded and sponsored by the Hanwha Corporation. Featuring a challenging AP curriculum taught in English-only classes, GLP provides unparalleled preparation for universities worldwide.
Every year, GLP recruits just 30 students who have demonstrated a high aptitude and passion for learning to nurture them into future global leaders. We strive to educate students holistically, through meaningful academics and vibrant extracurricular activities, to foster moral growth and a concern for humanity.
GLP has a 5:1 student-to-teacher ratio, and the average class size is 8. The present enrollment is 79, with 35 boys and 44 girls in grades 10 to 12. Our teachers often have firsthand experience in their chosen fields, which allows them to bridge the gap between the classroom and the real world.
The Bugil Academy Global Leader Program (GLP) is looking for a bright, energetic, flexible professional capable of teaching a Computer Science: both Advanced Placement® and an upper-level Computer Science course designed for students that have completed AP Computer Science. This upper-level course should include more advanced applications of Java and/or instruction in an alternative computer science language. The ability to teach other courses is not a requirement but would be considered an advantage. At the GLP, we want our students, in addition to learning computer science skills, to experience creativity, research, cross-cultural versatility, and even debate within math classes. Specifically, the currently available position requires a candidate to teach one or two sections of AP Computer Science and one section of the upper-level Computer Science course.
The start date of this position is March 1, 2018.
We prefer, but do not require, candidates who have at least two years full-time experience teaching secondary computer science courses and hold an advanced degree in Math or Math Education. For a teacher requiring an employment visa, a teaching certificate in math or computer science is required. Mostly, we are looking for an exceptional teacher who welcomes the rewards and challenges of living and teaching abroad.
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
Additional Salary Information: In addition to salary, we offer free housing, medical insurance, retirement, and visa assistance if required.
