The United Nations International School (UNIS) is seeking an individual with curriculum development experience, preferably in a IB setting, to fill the role of the newly created, Director of Curriculum and Instruction. The Director of Curriculum and Instruction will assist in directing the implementation and improvement of curricula and assessment of the effectiveness of curricula and instruction.
This individual will act under the general direction of the Chief Academic Officer to provide support in planning, developing, maintaining, and evaluating the School's curriculum and instruction; will assist to coordinate, organize, and perform duties dealing with instructional support, supervision, and professional development; will be responsible for representing the best interests of the PreK-12 instructional programs; will provide support of staff responsible for curriculum and instruction development.
This role will report to the Chief Academic Officer and will provide support to all student related offices including Assistant Chief Academic Officer, Curriculum Coordinators, School Health and Nursing, Office of Student Activities and Service Learning.

Bachelor's degree and teaching certificate or credential, and a minimum of five years professional experience as a lead/independent classroom teacher or other leadership roles
Advanced degree or advanced studies in educational leadership preferred but not required
Experience with teacher training, mentoring, and coaching
Experience promoting professional development
Strong technology skills
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all constituents
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Collaborates well with colleagues of diverse backgrounds on pedagogical approaches, curricular alignment, and instructional strategies
Works well with individuals and groups
