Scheck Hillel Community School, located in North Miami Beach, FL has a part time opening for an experienced Grant Writer. This position is responsible for developing and writing grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making institutions.
Reporting to the Director of Development, the Grant Writer will source, assemble and submit grant requests, establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with foundation contacts, conduct prospect research as needed, and maintain a detailed and hefty calendar of submissions and other deadlines.
Developing and writing grant proposals and reports to foundations and other grant-making organizations;
Assembling and submitting grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations;
Establishing and maintaining personal contact and relationships with foundation contacts and program officers;
Maintaining calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposal deadlines, and reports;
Conducting prospect research as needed;
Reporting back to Funders;
Prioritizing projects to keep multiple projects moving in a timely manner, meet deadlines and manage supplemental material required for proposals’

Qualified applicants must have excellent writing, analytical, and research skills, be self-motivated, detail oriented, and highly-organized, have experience using Raisers Edge, have knowledge of prospect research tools, excellent computer skills, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and minimum of 2 years of grant writing experience are required. Experience in a nonprofit and/or academic environment preferred.
