The John Cooper School has an opening for a full time Art Teacher specializing in painting. Art Teachers report to the Department Chair and School Heads. They work closely with, all school faculty, support staff, and parents. An Art Teacher must be able to communicate well with both children and adults. Professionalism, a strong work ethic, flexibility, and a genuine love for children are essential in this position.

B.A, B.S in Fine Arts, Art Education – Masters preferred.
Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in supervised classroom role.
A strong foundation in a wide variety of painting tools, materials, and techniques.
A strong foundation in computer aided painting programs such as Photoshop and Corel Paint.
A knowledge of various printmaking techniques.
A portfolio of student work.
A portfolio of personal work.
A desire to teach in a student centered department with an established curriculum grounded in the Elements, Principles of Art, and Design.
