Requirements: The candidate will possess a background in softball with coaching and/or playing experience at the Head School Level. Special consideration to candidates with college experience. Candidates must be available Monday through Friday, 3pm - 4:30pm, to include occasional Saturdays during the Spring Season, Mid-January – Mid-May.
Exemplify a sense of professionalism at all times which includes game and practice times, with opponents, parents, faculty, staff and administration.
Develop and enhance the qualities of sportsmanship, leadership, loyalty and commitment.
Adhere to all rules and regulations stated in ISAL and NFHS bylaws, as well as the Saint Mary's Hall Athletic Handbook.
Teach basic softball skills and develop, enhance, and refine player technical, tactical, and game strategy skills.
Attend all Middle School games and practices, to include local travel.
Weekly communication to students, parents and the athletic department outlining practice times and game schedules.
Directly support and work with the Softball Coaching staff.
Responsible for the implementation of practice and game plans and equipment inventory.
Attend all required meetings or events for ISAL and the SMH athletic department.
Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
Exhibit manual dexterity to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids.
Speak audible tones so that others may understand clearly.
Ability to bend, to stoop, to walk and to reach overhead
Duties may be occasionally performed on field trips away from school.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Hear and understand speech at normal levels, outdoors and on the telephone
Physical agility to lift up to 50 pounds.
Duties are normally performed in a school environment or outdoors.
