To provide vision, leadership and management of Ogichi Daa Kwe’s ongoing development with an emphasis on both preserving and enriching its long history.
Oversee all programmatic elements of Ogichi Daa Kwe’s summer program at Minnesota location and manage the full-time recruiting efforts for Ogichi Daa Kwe’s camper groups;
Work with C&E and Ogichi Daa Kwe management to constantly improve the recruiting process and presentations and diversify our recruiting base;
Set positive standard for all parent communication and review effectiveness of current camper and parent survey process;
Recruit and manage the summer staff for Ogichi Daa Kwe;
Meet financial objectives by working with C&E President, C&E CFO, and the Ogichi Daa Kwe treasurer to understand, review and maintain ODK’s operating budget;
Manage ODK’s marketing efforts in conjunction with the C&E management staff;
Work with C&E President and Camp Kooch-i-ching director to develop and implement a fundraising plan for Ogichi Daa Kwe alumni and current camper families;
Serve as an ex-officio member of the Camping and Education, LLC Board of Trustees, including active participation on one or more committees;
Maintain proactive involvement with industry organizations like the ACA, NOLS,and East Coast Consortium;
Serve as representative of Ogichi Daa Kwe and the Camping and Education Foundation, maintain good relations with the International Falls community and the broader communities of which the camp is a part.
College Graduate (4-year accreditation or equivalent) Liberal Arts degree and/or teaching certification preferred;
7-10 years experience in outdoor wilderness youth education with an emphasis on field experience and health and safety;
Sales-oriented; Presentation ability essential;
Basic level understanding of budgetary process;
Wilderness First Responder Accreditation a plus.
