The French American School of Rhode Island (FASRI) seeks a skilled leader and educator to serve as the next Head of School. The Head of School will report directly to the Board of Trustees, and be responsible for all school operations, including fulfillment of the current school vision (Excellence through Bilingualism); oversight of school finances; recruitment, evaluation, support, training and mentoring of all faculty and staff; recruitment of new students; retention of existing students, maintenance and enhancement of the social and emotional learning program; ongoing curriculum development; fundraising; and efforts to increase awareness and visibility of the school in the community through active marketing.
FASRI is a unique institution that provides a transformational educational experience for students. Founded in 1994, FASRI has 190 students from a variety of ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds in Preschool through 8th grade. Situated in a single building on the historic East Side of Providence, FASRI students graduate as multi-lingual adaptive thinkers, respectful citizens equipped to succeed in High School and beyond. FASRI graduates are highly sought after and recruited by the private high schools in the area and have a proven track record at the college level.

Desired Qualities of the Next Head of School
The successful candidate will demonstrate a substantial capacity to become passionate about FASRI and its mission. The school seeks a leader who excels as both an educator and an administrator, who possesses strong communication and listening skills, proven organizational skills, as well as an understanding of school finances, budgeting, fundraising, and marketing. It is preferred that the next HOS possess a successful track record in educational administration of a French or international school, and has an in-depth understanding of both French and American cultures. The candidate will work to ensure the continuity of curriculum and current initiatives. The candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding for the value of the current operational structure and its team.
