The Frisch School, an independent co-educational orthodox Jewish day school, seeks a College Counselor. The successful candidate will bring experience in college counseling and selective college admissions. The candidate reports directly to the Director of College Guidance, and works closely with three co-counselors, a college office assistant, and high school administration to guide students through all aspects of the college exploration and application process. The caseload is approximately fifty-five senior advisees. This is a twelve month administrative position with generous vacation time. January 2019 start date preferred.

Qualified Candidates will possess:
An in-depth knowledge of US colleges and universities, as well as an awareness of the evolving college admissions landscape.
Strong interpersonal relationship skills and an understanding of the cultural expectations and personal priorities of our families related to college and university admissions.
A team-oriented approach to all aspects of the college counseling process and a collaborative spirit of engagement.
Strong written communication skills including writing effective letters of recommendation for each senior advisee.
Self-confidence, creativity, patience, diplomacy, initiative and ability to meet deadlines
Articulate oral communication/public speaking skills, comfortable with leading and speaking at various school events and representing Frisch at community and professional programs.
Willingness to participate in various aspects of student life and attend evening and weekend events at school and in the community.
Travel flexibility to represent Frisch at regional and national conferences as well as college visitation programs.
