Dorm Parents at Brandon Hall serve an essential function in the overall well-being and community of the boarding program. Their work is unique and particularly demanding and rewarding. Our small community fosters strong connections and great opportunities for professional mentorship and coaching. Brandon Hall provides year-round private apartment housing within the dorm. In addition to be a constant and consistent presence in residential life, dorm parents may also have opportunities to teach, coach and serve as advisors. Dorm parents are part of a strong, proactive team that is deeply invested in student growth and wellness.

Primary Job Description: Oversee and maintain the smooth operation of their dormitory halls and the safety and well-being of the boarders Uphold the Panther Pillars and support Residential Life Team in defining the rules and setting the standards for good communal living Attend all dorm, staff, and advisory meetings Mentor the SLT (Student Leadership Team) Establish and maintain positive relationships with students Support students with social or academic matters Establish a relationship with student families Proactively help students develop practical life, social, and community-living skills Ensure a safe and well-kept living environment Lead on and off-campus extracurricular activities as assigned Embody a growth mindset by engaging in regular training and professional development
Must work two weekend shifts a month
Must work 3 nights per week
Willing to transport students for medical appointments
Reports to Residential Life Managers
Highly Preferred Qualifications
Experience in mainstream boarding school programs
Expertise in working with multicultural students
International experience or IB experience
