Commonwealth Academy, a grade 3-12 Independent School in Alexandria, VA is currently seeking a High School Counselor/College Counselor.
The counselor is responsible for executing a comprehensive school counseling program that is preventative in design, developmental in implementation and supports students in the areas of academic achievement, educational and college counseling, as well as personal and social development.
Qualified candidates must have strong verbal and written communications skills and demonstrate the leadership qualities necessary for working effectively with students, parents, faculty, and administrators.
A Master's degree in Counseling is required. National Counselor Certification (NCSC) is preferred.
Candidate must have successful experience as a High School counselor, with knowledge of the college selection, application and acceptance process for students with learning differences and/or ADHD and Executive Function challenges.
