The new Head of School will be an accomplished and energetic educator, as well as, an engaged, and collaborative leader who has the skills and drive to lead the school to its next level of excellence. Candidates will have a steadfast belief in education at a faith-based school, and in particular the mission, values and educational philosophy of St. Philip’s Episcopal School.
Candidates will be prepared to deal with the broad range of school matters and be able to demonstrate successful experience in most, if not all, of the following:
leading a traditional academic program, which includes recruiting, developing and supporting a talented faculty and staff
exercising educational vision and innovation
developing and implementing strategic initiatives
forging relationships with multiple constituencies
advancing school identity and serving the independent school community

Forge a strong relationship with the faculty & staff, students & parents, the School Home Association, the Board of Trustees, Vestry & Rector.
Embrace the culture and values of the St. Philip’s Community by being fully engaged in the life of the school and the parish.
Examine and evaluate operational effectiveness across the school with particular attention paid to the primary leadership team, the multiple responsibilities of senior administrators, and the development of faculty.
With the leadership of the church and school, fully implement the recent strategic plan and prepare for the next one.
Establish relationships with the heads of independent schools in the greater Miami area to continue the excellent track record for middle school placement.
