As a member of the admissions team, this position plays a key role in the recruitment and selection of a diverse student body who will be best served by the mission of Phillips Exeter Academy. Working in partnership with the Director of Multicultural Outreach and Dean of Enrollment, this position will have a particular focus on the engagement of prospective and current families from underrepresented populations. The Assistant/Associate Director will conduct admission interviews, travel to key market areas, review applications and perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Enrollment. In addition, this professional will be engaged in the residential and co-curricular programs at Exeter.
Conducts admissions interviews and reviews admissions applications.
Serves on the Admissions Committee.
Serves as a thought partner in enrollment research and planning.
Actively participates in the residential experience, which may include dormitory responsibilities, academic advising, coaching and/or similar duties.
Partners with the Director of Multicultural Outreach on the Academy’s ongoing efforts to attract and enroll Youth from Every Quarter.
Demonstrates cultural competency for diversity of identities and experiences, an orientation toward equity and inclusion, and cultural competency in all aspects of Academy life.
Performs other assignments as necessary.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Graduate degree preferred.
Cultural competency or diversity training preferred
Prior experience at the secondary and/or collegiate level is strongly preferred.
