St. John’s School, a coeducational independent K-12 school in Houston, Texas is seeking a dynamic individual to lead its healthy and vibrant Varsity Football program for the 2019-20 school year. As a staff member in the Department of Athletics and Physical Education, duties will include a Lower School Physical Education teaching responsibility in addition to a spring coaching assignment at the middle school level. The appointment is a full-time, 12-month position with benefits scheduled to begin on May 1, 2019. The selected candidate will report directly to the Director of Athletics. In addition to serving as the head varsity coach, the successful candidate will provide leadership, supervision and organization for the entire Football program, including Junior Varsity and Middle School levels.
Preference will be given to candidates with previous head coaching experience at the independent school level and playing experience at the collegiate level. Special emphasis will be placed on exemplifying the highest standards of professionalism, leadership, and sportsmanship. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required; Master’s degree preferred
Minimum of three (3) years of head coaching experience
Proven experience developing Football programs and players
Experience leading/coordinating a team of coaches
Proven organizational, management, motivational and communication skills
