The Pinnacle School, a private, special education day school for college-bound students in grades 2 through 12, seeks an Occupational Therapist for a full-time, school based position (11 months). The focus of Occupational Therapy program at The Pinnacle School is to address students’ individual sensory and motor needs in order to improve their overall performance in the school setting and beyond. Our program focuses on sensory integration theory and praxis skill development in order to remediate critical foundational skills.
The occupational therapist will work with students individually and in small groups throughout the school day in the School’s large, dedicated OT gym. The occupational therapist will be joining a robust and collaborative team of highly trained clinicians and teachers with expertise in special education, school counseling, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and classroom and behavior management.

We are accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and is a Connecticut state-approved special education school. Our students are both privately and district placed, and come from Connecticut and New York.

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy and valid Connecticut state license
Experience working with special education student populations (preferably in a school setting)
Skilled at performing and writing assessments
Strong background in sensory integration therapy
Excellent communication skills, contagious enthusiasm, and a collaborative style to fit with our small-team environment.
