Regents School of Austin is seeking a Head of School of Grammar for the 2019-2020 school year.
In recognition of the calling as a Christian school, excellent leadership must guide Regents programs in a way that is within the framework of the stated mission, objectives, practices, and policies. The work of the Head of School of Grammar must be conducted in a way that celebrates the school’s founding principles. Wise educational leadership will execute the strategic plans in a way that educates children, partners with parents, leads teachers and models this form of education to many other schools. As a member of the Senior Staff team, the Head of School of Grammar works with the leadership structure to fulfill the objectives.
The Head of School of Grammar is responsible leading and maintaining the Grammar division at Regents while providing practical approaches to furthering the mission of the school, including, but not limited to:
Lead the culture of the school to effectively and gracefully align with Regents core values:
Demonstrate a spiritual maturity that exudes a confidence in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior who redeemed mankind and this world that He created.
Lead in the handling of people as image bearers who are on this earth in order to be active kingdom builders.
Advance the Classical, Christian model it is manifested at Regents.
Embrace the spiritual dimensions of the vibrant Christian culture that is represented by over one hundred churches amongst its families.
Lead the teaching faculty to academic excellence, an outstanding culture, and high job satisfaction:
Actively participate in, and provide strong insight into, the curricular goals and objectives for all subjects in the Classical, Christian model at Regents.
Objectively assess the effectiveness of curriculum and delivery in order to maintain excellence.
Apply cogent discernment in regard to increased effectiveness in pedagogy based on its model.
Refine the school’s ability to assess the voices of teachers as the implementers of the educational model so that collaboration is harmonized toward achieving higher student achievement.
Drive for new and creative ways to better support and assist the teachers in their classroom objectives.
Utilize evaluation and coaching systems that direct specific attention to improving each teacher as an individual professional so that students are able to learn and teachers are set up to thrive.
Foster and strengthen a faculty culture that emits a true sense of advocacy for each child, and deliver a set of tools/information that makes it easier for teachers to personally connect with each child/family.
Lead the school to operational excellence:
Oversee effective student flow outside of the classroom including but, not limited to, carpool, safety, lunchtime, recess field trips, events, and all other gatherings of students outside of the classroom.
Provide expert oversight into managing the financial obligations and budget forecasts of the division in a way that fosters interdependence with the rest of the Senior Staff Team.
Effectively advance cohesion between the different divisions, including students, faculty and administration.
The successful Head of School of Grammar candidate will have experience and expertise in the following:
Bachelor's Degree required, Master's and above preferred.
Leadership in a Christian school that included management of staff, workflow, budgeting, and parental interaction.
Experience in articulating curricular objectives that integrate the Christian faith and traditions into the educational model.
Understanding of the pedagogical skills in a Classical, Christian model.
Ability to connect curricular objectives to the unique community of Regents.
Communicate accurately and clearly with teachers, parents, and administrators
Respect confidential information
Model a Christian lifestyle and demonstrate convictions are noticeable and respected by the community
