The Associate Director of College Counseling will join Out-of-Door during an important period of programmatic growth and development. The successful candidate will be an integral component to a four-person team and will work collaboratively with all academic and administrative offices.
Reporting to the Director of College Counseling, the Associate Director of College Counseling will be responsible for the following:
Provide college advising and support for approximately thirty students per class.
Complete letters of support and advocacy for students.
Develop and present educational workshops and programming for students and parents.
Attend national conferences and travel to college campuses representing Out-of-Door.
Provide AP, PSAT and SAT planning and administration.
Complete departmental tasks as assigned by the Director of College Counseling.
Live the school’s mission and core values of respect, integrity, service, excellence, and responsibility.
At least five years of experience in university admissions and/or college counseling.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience compiling, analyzing, and interpreting data.
Ability to be self-directed, solution oriented and work well in a team environment.
Strong interpersonal skills to work and communicate effectively with students, parents, faculty, staff, and administration.
Interest and ability to contribute to the academic and extracurricular life of the School.

This is a 12-month full-time exempt position. Compensation will be highly competitive and commensurate with experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package. Out-of-Door was founded on Siesta Key in 1924 to serve students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. In 1996, a second campus in the Lakewood Ranch area of Sarasota was acquired to accommodate the addition of an upper school. Over the past ten years, t...he school has experienced steady and impressive enrollment growth from 550 to 740 students. The campuses have also evolved and developed in response to this growth.
