Greenwich Academy seeks an outstanding artist and teacher for its Lower School. The school’s visual art program fosters creativity and independence and helps students develop the skills of the artist and designer. Candidates should have a fine arts background and experience teaching drawing, painting, printmaking, clay, and design. A commitment to materials-based art making is essential, as is some experience with using technology as an expressive medium. Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite is preferred. Potential opportunities include curating for the school’s art gallery and partnerships with GA’s Engineering and Design Lab. Candidates should be enthusiastic learners themselves and should be eager to teach and learn in an environment dedicated to thoughtful, ongoing diversity work. Some teaching experience is preferred, as is a master’s degree in a related field. Above all, candidates should demonstrate a deep commitment to working with elementary-aged children.
