Lakeside School, an independent coeducational day school located in North Seattle, is currently recruiting for a Middle school co-ed Ultimate Frisbee coach for the Spring 2019 season. The season begins Monday, February 25 and concludes at the latest in mid- May.
Responsibilities: The Middle school co-ed Ultimate Frisbee coach will report to the Ultimate Frisbee program coordinator and an associate director of the middle school. Specific responsibilities include:
Availability two days a week for afternoon practices (3:30 - 5:00 on Friday, and one other weekday practice, day TBD, most-likely from 4:30 to 6:00), and on Saturday for games.
Communicate and work with school’s program advisor, Upper School student volunteers, and parent/guardians;
Plan and run practices;
Teach skills and strongly emphasize the importance of Spirit of the Game;
Coach games and record scores;
Attend two-day Spring Reign tournament in April; [April 27 & 28]
Set a positive example for players.
Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes.
Successful candidates must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid Washington State driver’s license, and be available for all practices and competitions. Practices will be Friday afternoon from 3:30 to 5:00 and one other weekday afternoon, from 4:30 to 6:00, day TBD. Games will be on Saturday, except during playoffs in May, when some games are on Sunday. We attend the Spring Reign weekend tournament in April 27 - 28. Experience coaching Ultimate Frisbee at the club, middle school, high school or college level is required. Additionally, candidates must satisfactorily complete a nationwide criminal background check, a Washington State Patrol background check and must possess or obtain prior to the start of their season current First Aid and CPR certification, and complete a sexual harassment training.
