The Phelps School seeks an instructor for middle and upper school classes in Health and Physical Education.
Teachers at Phelps serve as advisors to as many as five students and are fully involved in co-curricular programs as coaches, activity sponsors, weekend trip chaperones, and community service project supervisors. Some reside on campus in faculty housing and serve as dorm parents (supervisors). They are dynamic men and women dedicated to helping each boy become a better man – in and out of the classroom. They enjoy working with students in relatively small classes and engaging collaboratively in curriculum design and constant professional improvement. They strive to integrate technology into their teaching and to help improve students’ creativity and critical thinking skills.
PA Teaching Certification (Health & P.E.) or coursework to obtain PA Private Academic Certification
The Health Teacher may have the option of serving on the residential life staff, with a campus apartment, utilities, and meals provided. (Housing benefits exceed $22,000 annually.)
