International boarding school (grades 7-12) in a rural setting looking for a houseparent/residential guide. Position available August 2019. Primary responsibility is to promote the well-being of students as individuals and as a community, facilitating their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual safety and development. Houseparents also assure the smooth functioning of community life and care for the building alongside the students. They are the primary support staff for evening and weekend activities, including outdoor activities, chores, cooking meals, study hall, cleaning rooms, and organizing and supervising outings off campus.
Hours are primarily evening and a rotation of weekend hours. Commitment to and experience in the developmental issues of adolescents, as well as a high level of personal maturity and moral grounding are fundamental qualifications for this job.
