The Langley School, a preschool through eighth grade coeducational day school in McLean, Virginia, seeks an experienced, collaborative, and creative learning specialist to support student learning across the school. We seek an educator who has extensive expertise in the primary, elementary or middle school grades and who is committed to seeing student strengths as the basis for addressing areas of academic challenge. Working closely with the director of academic resource, the director of social and emotional learning, the Primary and Lower School counselor, and the school’s three division heads, the successful candidate will ensure students reach their potential as learners. To that end, he or she will also work as a coach, supporting faculty as they refine observational, instructional, and assessment practices.

Five years of successful primary, elementary, or middle school special education, student support, or teaching experience; master’s degree in special education; demonstrated commitment to the cognitive, social, and emotional well-being of every child, every day; superior communication and organizational skills; and commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning and work environment.
