West Nottingham Academy is seeking a dynamic and experienced Science teacher to start for the 2019-2020 academic year. Qualified candidates will be experienced in teaching many facets of science, with a focus on Chemistry. This position has Department Chair possibilities over the STEM Departments, including the Math department and our Innovation Center. We’re looking for a teacher who exhibits excellence both in and outside of the classroom. This individual must be interested in working collaboratively with students, faculty, and administration throughout the year.

The primary classroom responsibility will be teaching an average of five classes
Outside of the classroom, teachers will supervise: two activities, teams or afternoon programs.
Preferred: experience in coaching athletic clubs/sports
Faculty live on campus and participate in the residential life programs
This position requires heavy involvement in student advisory, student clubs, and other activities as assigned/created by the students, faculty or Head of School.
Other responsibilities include those that are normally part of a boarding school commitment: dorm parent duties, committee work, and other routine duties.
Undergraduate degree in a related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
5+ years of experience teaching Chemistry at the high school or college level.
Strong PC skills. (working in a Windows environment with knowledge of email, scheduling and database applications.)
Interest in and demonstrated skill working with adolescents.
Well-organized in all facets of boarding school life (classroom, dormitory, committee work, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication
A sense of humor, humility and the ability to develop and relate to our students
