Candidates should have a working knowledge of Project Based Learning and Reading and Writing Workshops as approaches to best practices in instruction. Candidates should have familiarity with the Investigations math curriculum. Our successful candidate will carry out all responsibilities necessary to teach in our small, inclusive school, including but not limited to the following: documenting curriculum, developing lesson plans, instructing, classroom/behavior management, communicating with families, and participating richly and fully in the life of the School.
Ideal candidates will have an advanced degree and experience teaching lower school aged children. Our ideal teacher is a passionate, compassionate, collaborative, dedicated, reflective practitioner who uses creativity as the basis for unique lesson plans that are brought to life in a fun and imaginative way. The ideal candidate also has strong leadership skills, is an excellent communicator, and can motivate and inspire children in a positive manner.
We seek an experienced teacher who can help us fulfill our mission to provide an outstanding education guided by Quaker principles. Our successful candidate will carry out all responsibilities necessary to teach in our small, inclusive school, including but not limited to the following: documenting curriculum, developing lesson plans, instructing, classroom/behavior management, communicating with families, and participating richly and fully in the life of the School. Candidates should have a BA or MA in Education or a related field.
