Episcopal School of Jacksonville is seeking to fill a vacancy in the History Department for the 2019 - 2020 school year. The successful candidate will be able to teach American History as well as other courses in the department. Contribution to the larger school community through academic advising, in addition to coaching or sponsoring of extra-curricular programs, is also expected.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in history or political science; advanced degree preferred.
At least two years teaching experience, including experience teaching American History.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrate a commitment to teaching historical thinking skills, including inquiry through primary sources and development of written analysis.
Experience with and interest in learner-centered teaching, particularly in the Harkness teaching methodology.
Work collaboratively to achieve departmental and school-wide goals.
Possess a deep and thorough knowledge of the subject matter.
