`Iolani School seeks a half-time French teacher for grades 7-12, with experience teaching French I to French V, including AP French Language and Culture. The French language program follows ACTFL guidelines. The successful applicant will have at least a Bachelor’s degree; a Master’s degree in French is preferred or the equivalent in experience teaching at the middle and high school level. The applicant should be able to demonstrate native or near-native competency in the French. The applicant should also have excellent written and oral communication skills in English with the ability to communicate effectively in large and small group settings as well as write instructional materials as required. In addition, the applicant should be comfortable using technology in language teaching, grading and communications. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of and expertise in Web 2.0 tools, Google applications and use of the iPad in foreign language teaching. All candidates must have documentation necessary to work in the United States.
