Gill St. Bernard’s School, an independent, non-sectarian, college preparatory day school for students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12, located in Gladstone, New Jersey, is searching for an Assistant Director of the Lower School to begin on or about July 1, 2019. PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Assistant Director of the Lower School assists the Director with all of the administrative responsibilities regarding the Lower School programs, personnel and facilities. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Director with the supervision of student life in grades PK-4 including class schedules, discipline, the extended day program, curriculum innovation, faculty professional development, and the guidance and monitoring of the academic and social progress of all students. Assist the Director in all communication with lower school parents to ensure regular, frequent communication individually and as a group, and serve as a resource to parents. Assist the Director with other duties such as faculty meetings, teacher assignments, evaluations, and professional development. Coordinate the assembly program, special events, parent coffees, and back-to-school night. Responsible for all duties of the Director in his/her absence. - In accordance with expertise, teach a weekly academic class in the range of K-6.
- Weekly meeting with Director of Lower/Middle School; meeting once every three weeks with PS3-8 Leadership Team (which includes MS Deans and Admin Assistants).
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director or Head of School.
