Bishop Seabury Academy is seeking a dynamic Physics and Physical Science teacher for the 2019-2020 academic year. Successful candidates should be passionate about teaching science and energetically committed to working with young people. Candidates should have a background in at least one of the physical sciences: physics, chemistry, engineering, or a related field. The ideal candidate will be capable of teaching a broad spectrum of science classes, developing elective courses in engineering and advanced physics, and designing an innovative and robust laboratory program that includes opportunities for students to conduct their own experimental research.
All applicants must have genuine concern for students’ academic growth and character development and possess the ability to differentiate instruction and help students master the subject matter despite different skill levels or ages; be confident integrating technology to advance education in the classroom; prioritize positive collegial interactions and collaborative relationships with other teachers; possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in science or in a related field and five years or more of teaching experience in Middle and/or High School. Preferred candidates will have a master’s degree and experience teaching in independent schools.
