Berwick Academy, a PK-12 coeducational day school located in Southern Maine seeks a dynamic teacher to enhance our upper school science program. Along with teaching advanced electives in their area of expertise/passion (preferably physics, engineering and/or computer science), ideal candidates would have the skills and versatility to integrate foundational topics in physics and chemistry - teaching core coursework in a unique 9th/10th grade model. A qualified candidate will show significant evidence of exceptional teaching and a keen understanding of the developmental needs of high school students. A collaborative/interdisciplinary teaching approach and instructional leadership skills among peers are also hallmarks of a successful candidate. As a member of the Upper School Faculty, candidates can expect to teach four or five classes, coach one or two seasons of sports or lead equivalent afternoon responsibilities, and serve as an advisor.
