St. Francis School is a co-ed, non-denominational Independent School founded in the Progressive tradition. Our campuses are in two locations -- Goshen (Preschool-8th Grade) and Downtown (High School). We are searching for a dynamic Lower/Middle School Spanish Teacher for the 2019-20 school year (Grades 4 - 8). The ideal candidate for this position must be fluent in Spanish, have a master's degree, a minimum of five years as a classroom teacher, and understand the cultural heritage of Spanish-speaking nations in our world. Experience teaching in an Independent School at the Middle School level preferred. Understanding of the pedagogy and methods of foreign language instruction, including CI (Comprehensible Input Methods) and TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Story-telling) as well as differentiated instruction are critical. Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability and desire to work collaboratively are also essential. Additional responsibilities may include homeroom/advisor duties; the ability/willingness to coach academic or athletic teams is a plus.
