Girard College is a full-scholarship boarding school for academically capable students from qualified families of limited financial resources. Summary Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement and Strategic Partnerships, the Advancement Associate, Annual Giving & Special Events is an instrumental member of the Advancement efforts of the College. This person will be responsible for managing the Annual Giving program. Equally as important, this person will manage the logistics, staff, and volunteers for a number of special events that support GC’s fundraising, communications, and friend-raising goals and will manage the rental events that help to monetize the campus as an additional revenue stream. Essential Duties and Requirements - Develop and lead a comprehensive Annual Giving program, including strategies for giving societies, direct mail, social media and e-campaigns
- Working with the Director of Marketing and Brand Communications develops and manages a cultivation and stewardship programs, events, and communications.
- Helps identify prospects for EITC/OSTC, major gifts and planned giving solicitation.
- Responsible for optimizing the use of our fundraising relational database by developing policies and protocols for data entry, accuracy and quality of data and data maintenance that will be implemented within the database and used for other databases on campus.
- Process, reconcile and transmit donations and pledges on a daily basis. Work in collaboration with members of the Advancement and Strategic Partnerships team and Girard Estate to ensure accurate record keeping and donor acknowledgment.
- Coordinate, oversee and monitor all components of successful fundraising events including the College’s annual Gala. Develops and maintains timeline management, vendor and venue selection, budgets, printed and digital communication products, décor, catering, audio-visual equipment, guests, speakers, etc. Prepares reports and briefings for VP of Advancement, Office of the President, and other key stakeholders.
- In collaboration with the Director of Historic Collections, create and maintain relationships within the College and in the greater community by managing rental events of the Girard College property. Works closely with the VP of Advancement to grow rental events revenue program for the College.
- Respond to inquiries from donor prospects, alumni and other friends of the College in the absence of the VP.
