Annie Wright is seeking a Humanities Teacher in the Upper School for Girls to begin on August 19, 2019. This is a full time position. Position Overview: duties & responsibilities The Upper School for Girls Humanities Teacher: - teaches Humanities courses in alignment with the mission and philosophy of Annie Wright Schools and with the International Baccalaureate framework, including Grade 11 English Literature, Grade 9 World History, and ESL;
- works closely with colleagues to develop the Humanities program in the Upper School for Girls and to align it with other divisions, as well as to implement the curriculum with best practices in teaching, student-centered instruction, and relevant educational technologies;
- and fulfills all faculty duties, including serving as a Core Coach (advisor), IB Extended Essay Advisor, or IB CAS Coach, and maintaining good communication with families about student progress.
Qualifications The Upper School for Girls Humanities Teacher: - holds a BA in a relevant field;
- has experience teaching high school Humanities at multiple levels and is familiar with the International Baccalaureate framework;
- demonstrates an ability to form authentic relationships with high school students, excellent communication and organizational skills, reliability, and proficiency in educational technologies;
- and is eligible to work in the United States.
