Friends Select School seeks a dedicated and versatile digital art and studio art teacher to work with students in grades 9 through 12. Our Visual Arts Program endeavors to nurture each student’s creative potential though practicing skills and engaging with art-making as a means of celebration, communication, and revolution. Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience with both digital media and studio arts. This is a photography and publishing arts position that will also be responsible to teach both 2D and 3D media in the introductory Art Foundations course.
Be well versed in a variety of two and three-dimensional media
Have strong photography and digital media skills
Extensive knowledge of the Adobe suite, Wordpress publishing platforms, web development software, and digital equipment
Bachelor’s degree in art, master’s preferred
Effective classroom management skills and a working knowledge of the developmental needs and learning differences of upper school age students from a variety of backgrounds
Be a dedicated and experienced educator
A collaborative spirit
The ability to be an advisor to a group of about 10 students
