The Episcopal School of Jacksonville is seeking applications for a full-time Middle School teacher in the Science Department, beginning in August 2019. A science department member in the Middle School should feel comfortable teaching Earth Science and/or Physical Science. Special consideration will be given to those teachers who have experience or training in teaching middle school students. Candidates with the ability to structure student-centered learning through lab experiments are preferred. Each Middle School faculty member is assigned a small group of students for academic advising. Additional duties may include, but are not limited to, coaching an athletic team, supervising community service, or sponsoring a club.
Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field of study (i.e. Science, Science Education, or a field heavily dependent on applied science) from a four-year college or university, or post-graduate work in subject matter; advanced degree preferred.
Teaching experience is preferred, but we are also interested in entry-level new teacher candidates who have a strong desire to work with colleagues in a learner-centered environment.

Demonstrate a working knowledge of lab safety and a commitment to emphasize safety regularly,
Demonstrate an interest in developing the curriculum and taking advantage of professional development opportunities,
