Under limited supervision, assists the Academic Chair and Head of School with planning, coordinating, training, and the implementation of the St. Benedict’s curriculum and instructional program. Engages in administrative support duties including direct assistance to the Academic Chair and Head of School with, student assessments, resource selection, curriculum revisions, and professional development.
Provides administrative and supervisory support to the Academic Chair and Head of School.
Planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the curriculum and instructional programs for K-8.
With Academic Chair, train and support teachers in mapping, differentiation, integration/transdisciplinary work, assessment, and data collection aligned with St. Benedict’s mission and vision.
The ability to employ a variety of teaching and assessment techniques, including Orton Gillingham, as well as digital tools to engage students and further their learning experience.
Promote best practices in all areas of curriculum.
Research and align outside professional development with teacher’s needs.
With Academic Chair, manage and maintain the professional development budget and curriculum documents (e.g. report cards, homework, etc.).
Completes various administrative duties such as managing ERB testing and analysis.
Interprets assessment results at the school level, the teacher level, and the student level and discusses with parents.
Collaborates with other private schools and vendors to plan appropriate professional learning opportunities for teachers.
Supports school in implementing approved policies and procedures in employee handbook.
Procures resources and services to address curriculum initiatives, age appropriate lessons, and enrichment lessons.
Maintains knowledge of school policies and board approved mandates.
Works in collaboration with various community organizations in support of the curriculum; pursues grant opportunities and seek opportunities to partner with businesses in the area.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelors minimum, Masters is a plus in education or educational leadership; Curriculum and Instruction is preferred.
3-5 years of proven leadership experience, experience supervising teachers, and developing curriculum.
Ability to work with individuals with a wide range of experience and diverse backgrounds.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively manage relationships within the school and with the parents
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn additional software programs
Extreme tact and discretion, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.
