Proctor Academy seeks an experienced Forester to actively manage our 2,500 acre woodlands and teach Biological Science for the 2019-2020 academic year.
The successful candidate will teach two sections of introductory biology and work closely with colleagues to further develop and implement Forestry and Wildlife Studies units into the broader science curriculum. As Woodland Manager, the successful candidate will coordinate with administration and external contractors to oversee all on-site forestry activity and make the woodlands management decisions required to fulfill our missions of sustainability, educational and recreational use. Other responsibilities include supervision of afternoon Woods Team and Maple Sugaring.
Additional duties associated with a full-time position may include some of the following: advising, orientation group leader, project period group leader, afternoon program leader, and residential life duties.

The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in Forestry and/or education, significant Forest Management experience and an understanding of sustainable practices, 3+ years of classroom experience and be able to teach a range of Science courses, ranging from basic Biology and Ecology to Wildlife Biology and Forestry.
