St. Stephen's Episcopal School, a day and boarding school of 697 students (grades 6-12), is seeking a Middle School History Teacher for a full-time position beginning August 2019.
Candidates must have teaching experience in social studies, history, government, or cultural studies and experience in curriculum development for middle level learning. The job requires a love for working closely with energetic middle school students not only as a teacher but as an advisor and coach or club sponsor. The middle school, which includes about 200 students, is organized into grade teams. During team-meetings faculty may share ideas, plan interdisciplinary units, and discuss teaching techniques, as well as develop strategies for individual students. Interest in collaboration and in the highly relational aspect of helping adolescents mature is a key part of this job.
Teaching 4 sections of 7th Grade History
Serving as an advisor to a group of Middle School students
Coaching sports or leading extracurricular activities
Attending chapel and participating in an assigned-seating lunch program
