Shorecrest Preparatory School, a PK-12 independent school in St. Petersburg, Florida is accepting applications for a highly motivated, creative, intellectually engaged K-4 music teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. The PK-4th grade music program at Shorecrest seeks to nurture a love of music and provide children with a firm understanding of musical concepts and skills.

Commitment to tenets of progressive education
Experience with thoughtful, respectful, and effective classroom management techniques
Commitment to inclusion and issues of social justice and equity
Draws from constructivist theories of teaching and learning; student-centered
Demonstrates strong written, verbal, and organizational skills
Knows and applies knowledge of current professional literature
Experience with flexible, creative, and aesthetically pleasing classroom design
Experience organizing and directing musical performances in collaboration with classroom teachers
Experience in the ORFF-Schulwerk and Kodaly methodology preferred
Proficiency on the piano preferred
Willing to participate fully in the life of the school
Proficient with using technology and Web 2.0 tools in the classroom for instruction as well as for student use
Master's degree is preferred.
