The Instructional Coach is responsible for supporting faculty with instructional practices, assisting teachers with setting and meeting professional goals for teaching and instruction, as well as, facilitating with intentional reflection. This role offers in-house professional development for teachers in large group, small group, and one-on-one settings and provides research-based instructional strategies to improve student learning. provides positive and constructive feedback to teachers in a non-evaluative administrative role.
Supporter of Effective Instruction • Meet with teachers on regular coaching cycles to provide support for implementing specific instructional strategies • Model instructional practices in the classroom and co-plan with teachers to implement instructional strategies • Provide non-evaluative feedback to support teachers while they implement instructional strategies and suggest alternatives and refinements to improve instructional practices • Build teacher capacity regarding school-wide or division specific academic goals and instructional initiatives • Collaborate with teachers to develop a deeper understanding of the department's adopted curriculum and how to implement the curriculum well • Aid teachers in unpacking the standards to create learning targets and guide identification of essential knowledge and skills and assessments to match learning targets
Professional Development Facilitator • Design and facilitate effective professional learning opportunities for whole-school, division, and one-on-one personalized training
Data Analyst and Coach • Facilitate data conversations with teachers, grade level groups, and departments • Analyze and provide data to Division Heads and Department Chairs to inform decisions on new initiatives, new instructional resources and drive instruction • Collaborate with teachers to analyze formative and summative student achievement data • Assist teachers with the use of data to improve student learning
Instructional Specialist • Engage in continuous learning in order to keep current on new research and new instructional practices • Identify and provide a variety of resources to enhance classroom instruction and assessment • Engage in professional development opportunities and professional reading
Additional Responsibilities • Works in conjunction with the Division Heads and Department Chairs to develop faculty members and meet school-wide Academic goals. • Supports the value of an education founded in Christian values • Supports the philosophy and mission of Mount Pisgah Christian School

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field required • A minimum of three or more years of experience in Teaching/Instructional Coaching • Proven history of commitment to professional development and lifelong learning • Excellent written/oral communication skills • Excellent organizational and planning skills • Ability to multi-task • Very strong interpersonal skills and ability to use sound judgement • A genuine ability to connect with and serve young people in a Christian community • An eagerness to serve in a faith-based academic environment
