Position: Band Director Reports To: Head of Upper School

The Band Director is responsible for leading the Mount Pisgah Christian School Band (grades 5-12) with students participating at levels ranging from beginning to advanced. This position will provide musical instruction to students inspiring them musically, creatively and spiritually.
Prepares weekly lesson plans that includes instructional objectives, planned activities and biblical integration
Instructs students on their instruments on a more tailored and level-based instructional style
Arranges and prepares for concerts and/or programs for the MPCS community
Recruits new students into the band program
Supervises students in the classroom, at performances, rehearsals and trips
Works with Division Heads and Department Chairs to ensure timely and pertinent communication is being shared regarding student activities
Supports the MPCS Fine Arts program
Supports the value of an education founded in Christian values
Supports the philosophy and mission of Mount Pisgah Christian School

Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education or related field required
A minimum of three or more years of experience in related subject area with a demonstrated ability and expertise
Proven history of commitment to professional development and lifelong learning
Excellent written/oral communication skills
Excellent organizational and planning skills
Ability to multi-task
Very strong interpersonal skills and ability to use sound judgement
A genuine ability to connect with and serve young people in a Christian community
An eagerness to serve in a faith-based academic environment
