Headwaters School, a Pre-K through grade 12 independent day school serving 550 students across its three campuses in Austin, TX, is seeking a Humanities Teacher in our Middle School for the 2019-2020 academic year.
At Headwaters, our esteemed Faculty are responsible for fostering a positive environment of learning that responds to the particular needs of each child and classroom environment; helping each student to develop identity formation, to live authentically, to think expansively, and to create bravely.
The course load for this position will include teaching 4 sections of middle school Humanities. Candidates will also be prepared to participate fully in the life of the school, including, but not limited to opportunities to teach an elective, coach, sponsor a club, serve as an advisor to middle school students, supervise lunch, chaperone trips, and other duties as assigned by the Head of the Middle School.
Teaching Job Requirements:
At least three years prior experience teaching Humanities in a Middle School
Bachelor's Degree required, degree in Humanities, Education or a related field preferred
Extensive knowledge and ability to teach any grade level of Middle School required

This is a full-time, 12-month salaried, exempt position and compensation is competitive for the greater Austin area.
