MSR seeks a full-time, Toddler/Children’s House Program Coordinator for the 2019-2020 school year beginning in July. Under the general direction of the Head of the Lower School, the ideal candidate would coordinate, support and develop all the Toddler/Children’s House programs. This employee will be responsible for adhering to and supporting our MSR Mission and Vision. Duties and responsibilities will include:
Work with administration to facilitate the continued support and development of the Early Learning Programs (18months-6yrs) which includes: substitute training and management, planning and facilitating collaborative Team meetings, planning and providing oversight of assessment tools, and monitoring progress
Support and participate in the on-going Montessori professional development, including oversight of the professional development tools used
Assist and mentor classroom teachers in providing an authentic Montessori program, including modeling Montessori lessons, providing training opportunities and completing observations
Fully participate in enrollment management efforts to support prospective parents and current community members
Provide and coordinate parent educational opportunities regarding Montessori philosophy and Montessori methods, and child development
Partner with Interdisciplinary teachers to maintain rich programs that integrate Montessori philosophy and excellent educational practice
Act as a liaison between classroom teachers, assistants, administration, and other constituent groups
Participate in school planning by completing leadership work and serving on various committees for the growth of the school
Partner with the Student Support Team (Agility Lab) to provide strategies, tools, and goals, and help coordinate logistics for students who need enrichment or learning support
Other duties as assigned
Essential qualifications: ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively, desire to be part of a team, effective human relations skills, must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing with administrators, parents, children, and co-workers. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Education, and must have Montessori Early Childhood Credentials. This candidate should have at least 5 years of teaching experience at the Toddler or Children’s House level.
